Job Summary: As the Engineering Lab Assistant, your primary duties will be to assist the Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams with Service & Reliability and finished good performance testing. Testing will be conducted in a lab environment leveraging Service warranty data and finished goods assemblies. You will be required to evaluate product functional operation as it relates to Continuous Improvement and Engineering initiatives – validating finished goods to customer specific specifications, documenting temperature and gas measurements, and observing overall product performance. Baseline key performance measurements will be gathered for new and legacy products for Engineering, Agency, Reliability, and Continuous Improvement initiatives over the lifetime of the product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning and developing Engineering projects, including preparing test method plans, while following customer specific specifications when required.
• Leveraging data, assist with troubleshooting Engineering design problems and communicating results to executive leadership.
• Leveraging data, assist with troubleshooting Service & Reliability problems and communicating results to executive leadership.
• Maintain and manage product testing logbooks and document test results while assuring Quality compliance and best practices.
• Assist in assembling parts and wiring products to perform testing in a lab environment.
• Support legacy and new product development initiatives including prototype and pilot builds.
• Use hand tools and manufacturing equipment to build and calibrate test fixtures for Manufacturing Operations.
• Support Manufacturing Production and Engineering initiatives as needed.
• Support Service and Continuous Improvement teams with the evaluation of customer returned and field test products as needed.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years related product testing experience in a lab environment (or equivalent combination of training/education).
• Strong communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Manual assembly, Electrical, Mechanical, and QA/QC experience is .
• Computer proficiency utilizing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
