Job Description:Job Description:Are you looking to take your next step in Engineering Management?Due to an increasing workload, we have exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager within the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) sector of the EW line of business. The Engineering Manager will provide the engineering leadership and management to a team consisting of Systems and Software engineers, in collaboration with the Chief Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager, to identify, develop, deliver and support the technical solution. The Engineering Manager is also responsible for developing their Engineering Team, providing mentoring, coaching, setting objectives and appraising them on their performance.This opportunity can benefit from a mix of office and hybrid-workingAs an Engineering Manager in IMS you will be responsible for:Leading all the Engineering aspects of the Product / Project, ensuring technical quality, schedule and budget are maintained and that the solution is in line with the Sector’s long term business planThe management of cross-site, multi-disciplined engineering teams, ensuring that roles within the teams are clearly definedCreating a positive working relationship with customers and partners, to deliver product / project capabilityEstablishing and maintaining good lines of communication internally with the Engineering IPT, with IPT lead, Project Manager and Heads of functionProviding your team with clear expectations of the projects engineering goals, ensuring adherence to company policies & procedures.Working closely with the Systems Design Authority ensuring they are fully informed on technical progress, technical risk and any mitigation strategiesEnsuring the design solution meets the end user requirement, is reliable, fully documented, works within its designated environmentControlling project configuration and change management to ensure design reuse is maximised.Supporting the management of Suppliers and project Make or Buy decisionsEnsuring candidate concept solutions are captured, including the results of any trade off studies and end user engagementExperience in delivery of engineering projectsAbility to produce clear, concise engineering plansGood problem-solving abilityAbility to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, across multiple sites.Strong leadership competency but also can demonstrate team-working skills.Ability to manage complex situations with sound judgementCommercial and business awarenessWillingness to travel within the UK and possibly overseasEngineering or scientific Degree qualification (or equivalent)Experience of working across the full development lifecycleKnowledge of Requirements elicitation, defining and qualification of software products : Life at Leonardo With a company funded benefits package, a commitment to learning and development, and a flexible approach to working hours focused on the needs of both our employees and customers, a career with Leonardo has never offered as many opportunities or been more accessible to as many people.Flexible Working: Flexible hours with hybrid working options.
