Our company is looking to hire an Engineering Manager. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector.
The Engineering Manager will conduct planning, organizing and direct engineering to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Other duties include:
- The Engineering Manager's primary responsibilities include but are not limited to, full accountability for the performance of their assigned programs. This includes quality, production and continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.
- Insures Engineers maintain, update and control master files per quality requirements, involved in new product launches to ensure capacity is available, process layout is optimized and required internal and external dates and requirements are met.
- Quote cost and timing for engineering changes required by the customer ensuring capacity is available, change can support production requirements, and change is optimized to eliminate scrap and labor. Manage assigned program timing, documentation and costs.
- Communicate with sales and vendors.
- Visit customers as needed.
- Identify inefficiencies (scrap, rework, throughput, labour) within assigned programs to determine the root cause, identify a solution and implement the solution.
- Address customer concerns, develop an action plan, implement corrections and maintain open communication.
- Manage timing on assigned programs, Customer Visits/Meetings, Plant tryouts, and any customer concerns
- APQP Process, Quote New Business/Eng Changes, Track budget, Plant/cell layout, Tooling buy-off
- Change notice, Cost/efficiency improvements
- Responsible for other duties or special projects as assigned.
- Process Input/Responsible/Output responsibilities as identified in each individual quality and/or environmental Process Outline.
- Work instruction responsibilities as identified in each individual quality and/or environmental Work Instruction.
To qualify for this role you must meet the following:
- Completed Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any Engineering program or higher education
- 10 years experience in automotive industries, manager responsibilities for engineering and manufacturing.
