Project Overview: Bechtel is seeking Expressions of Interest for an upcoming project in the Transmission sector to provide Project Management services to support the customer in an integrated team. This Project involves greenfield and brownfield developments both in terminal stations and transmission and will involve works through the entire project lifecycle from civil through to commissioning. Job Summary: As the Engineering Manager, you will lead a team and interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for a complex project where you will participate in project planning, resource management, and engineering sub consultant management. Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget. This position is designated as full-time office based. Part-time telework may be authorised in the future as per our global telework policy and would be subject to a minimum number of days assigned in the office and agreed in consultation with supervision and project leadership. This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. Major Responsibilities: Responsible for multiple small projects or designated medium to large sized complex engineering assignments (program) within a global business unit. Possesses full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Reviews major changes or deviations in project scope, project material quantities, budget or schedule, and assists particularly with defining the change, obtaining accurate estimates of the hours involved, and recommending budget adjustment. Ensures engineering efforts with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) and Project Controls. Directs the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering reports and scopes of works. Manages a Project Engineer direct report to ensure their workflow is delivered in a timely manner. Manages engineering sub-consultancies to complete detailed engineering. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires Electrical Engineering bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience. Experience working with Australian distribution and transmission network operators, the network regulator and government entities. Required Knowledge and Skills: Developing governance process for project design changes Coordinating RFIs, TQs, FCDs and NCRs with contractors and engineering consultants. Reporting on engineering status from subconsultant engineering. Coordinates technical scope with Construction and Commercial functions. Experience with terminal station and transmission line design, installation and commissioning.
