- Lead and oversee the engineering team on focusing on updating legacy product documentation to current standards using modern documentation techniques and SolidWorks.
- Manage the development and implementation of engineering projects, including product design, testing, and production processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between Engineering, Manufacturing and Operation efforts.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department, particularly in the area of documentation techniques and standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve complex engineering issues and challenges, particularly with complex assemblies, press-broken parts, machining, welding, sheet metal, welding, and electromechanical.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard a team of engineers to support project work and departmental objectives.
- Strong organization and planning skills; ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to present well thought out and articulated concepts to an executive management team.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be flexible, solution oriented and adaptive to changing priorities, as well as effectively manage and resolve conflict.
The skills and experience you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree .
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in engineering management, with a track record of successfully leading engineering teams
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and modern documentation techniques.
- Experience with complex assemblies, press-broken parts, machining, welding, sheet metal, and electromechanical.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards applicable to the industry - AASHTO/MASH
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and objectives.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
