Engineering - Mechanical Engineering - Mechanical Technician - US
Objective: Technicians to operate, monitor, and trouble-shoot issues associated with Plant Industrial Waste Water Pilot Treatment process skids.
Role Description:
Client Oxnard is in need of 3 operations/maintenance technicians to operate several small water treatment pilot skids where client is testing the pilot skid water treatment performance over time. Client would provide on-site training for our specific application. We need technicians that have process experience and ideally water treatment operations experience.
The 3 operational technicians would be responsible to startup and shutdown couple small pilot water treatment skids, monitor operation, and log data hourly. Also technicians would be watching for skid alarms from control panel, watching for visible problems (ie tank overflowing or running dry) and either take corrective actions or request help from lead client Technician.
Technicians could be covering a shift (could be day or night shift, and on occasion if schedules work, would likely involve some weekend work). This is targeted to be a 40 hours/week assignment. But there could be some possibility for overtime if that is agreeable to technicians. The 3rd position we hope would give us the ability to staff at least 16-20 hours/day and cover some time over the weekends.
Technicians need skills of process aptitude to learn the process, control from control panel Human Machine Interface (HMI) screen, and to identify/resolve basic process issues (ie surge tanks running dry or possibly overflowing) and take corrective actions.
Skills Needed:
- Experience working in process industries.
- Experience desired working with water treatment equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude to make minor modifications with piping and equipment
- Ability to learn new process systems
- Ability to take direction and perform tasks as requested. Not afraid to ask questions for understanding.
- Self-motivated, bias towards action, positive attitude to get task objectives met.
SKILLS

Ability to deal with basic chemicals - acid & caustic (following all safety procedures and using proper PPE)
Ability to learn pilot system process
Ability to learn Site Safety Requirements, follow client Safe Practices and keep themselves safe.
Ability to log data hourly throughout shift
Ability to monitor operations, trouble shoot problems to keep units running. Ability to evaluate water treatment unit op performance against metrics provided
Ability to take direction from site operations, follow thru, ask for help when required
Process, Mechanical aptitude to have hands on interface with small pilot water treatment skids.
Nice To Have:
Knowledge of water treatment unit operations - membranes filtration
Soft Skill Communication, Analysis, Attention to Detail, Collaboration, Hands On/Output Focus, Problem Solving.
