If so, we are looking for multiple EL 1 Engineering Professionals and Technology Specialists within Navy Engineering Branch across several disciplines, which include: Fire Safety and Damage Control Vulnerability and Signature Management Mechanical, Propulsion and Auxiliary About our Team Navy Engineering is the trusted entity responsible for the provision of specialist engineering expertise needed to develop, deliver, and sustain maritime capability. The application of this engineering expertise is a critical enabler across the entire lifecycle of maritime assets (cradle to grave) and contributes to the following business outcomes: Enable Navy to comprehend and understand the effectiveness of complex technical capabilities that contribute to defence of the nation. Identification, quantification & management of risks to acquisition, sustainment and operation of maritime capabilities. Knowledge management that captures and maintains technical knowledge (lesson learnt) for efficient and effective use across existing and future programs of work. We are committed to our people and ensure they are supported with access to tailored professionalised pathways.  Our Ideal Candidate Navy Engineering Branch are looking for EL 1 Engineering professional or a Technology Specialist with proficiency in the roles outlined below. Knowledge in the disciplines is beneficial, however training is available to those that can demonstrate transferable skills (e.g. mechanical engineering, marine engineering, material engineering, aeronautical engineering, naval architecture) to achieve success.  Fire Safety and Control – As a Fire Safety and Damage Control Engineer EL 1, you assist Navy by supporting engineering advice to maximise controls for fire, flooding and atmosphere hazards on Navy ships to achieve requisite levels of survivability.  Vulnerability and Signature Management – As a Vulnerability and Signature Management EL 1, you assist Navy by supporting engineering advice on managing ship signatures and minimising ship vulnerability to achieve requisite levels of survivability.  Mechanical, Propulsion and Auxiliary – As an EL 1 engineer in Mechanical, Propulsion or Auxiliary systems, you assist Navy by supporting engineering advice on mechanical systems, propulsion, manoeuvring, engines, turbines, generators, shaft-lines, gear boxes, bearings and fuel supply systems, potable water, waste water and pollution control, HVAC, lifting appliance and refrigeration systems.  As an EL 1 Engineering Professional and Technology Specialist, you will need to demonstrate the following competencies for delivery of complex engineering and technical functions:   Strategic Direction Translate goals or issues into outcomes through planning, priority setting and delivery. Identify knowledge gaps, plan and implement actions to fill these gaps. Achieves Results Evaluate technical engineering documentation to deliver complex engineering activities and advice. Assess information against standards, understand impacts and assess risks. Manage your team's workflow to provide thorough high quality outputs. Productive Working Relationships Manage and work collaboratively with your team and other internal and external stakeholders. Motivate your team to succeed with clear performance and behavioural standards. Teach developing engineers and provide learning opportunities. Personal Drive and Integrity Be inquisitive to learn and take initiative to identify and progress tasks. Challenge issues and find a way forward under pressure or unexpected situations.
