On behalf of our client, AMS are currently recruiting for an Engineering Programme Lead to join Our Clients Power Systems team in Derby based on an initial 12-month contract.



Job description - the role



This position is part of Our Clients Power Systems that focuses on delivering electrical, automation and autonomy products to our Naval and Commercial Marine customers.



As Engineering Programme Lead you will be taking responsibility for the delivery of small projects or workstreams within larger projects that supports the delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives.



Engineering Programme Lead Key responsibilities:



Robustly programme manage and deliver technical solutions that meet all programme responsibilities.

Own the creation, commitment, communication, and daily management of an integrated programme plan

Support the business resource planning activities utilising the integrated programme plan by providing resource forecasts for allocated workscope.

Maintain engineering work packages to ensure effective control and governance of status, technical delivery and proactive risk identification/mitigation approach in full compliance with our client's quality requirements.

Provide programme and technical management support to the deployed engineering team and ensure compliance with all functional Engineering policies/processes throughout the life cycle of a given work package.

Ensure timely scheduling of gated reviews for all technical work packages.

Visibly support a strong, proactive commitment to Continuous Improvement/Lean.

Report progress against the integrated plans and highlight issues and identify any priority calls needed, with clearly identified critical path analysis.

Engage with the internal and external stakeholders, acting as the focal point for all aspects related to the allocated packages of work.

Manage technical risks associated with internal and external environments and escalated in accordance with the business and project governance.What we require from the candidate:



Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering and/or Project Management or equivalent industry experience.

Appropriate domain knowledge to facilitate dependable management of varied engineering work packages, including Microsoft Project

Demonstrable programme leadership of successfully delivered technical projects/tasks to time, cost, quality

Proven, extensive experience in the management of technical work packages or projects, of increasing complexity.

Understanding of product change control including PCB, DDRAM, IPPR/PPAP processes and Product Introduction Lifecycle Management experience

A good level of knowledge & experience in all the technical skills recognised as being required for the management of technical work packagesNext steps
