REPORTS TO: \t\tSr. Project Manager, Program Manager, or Director of PMOThis position is 100% remote.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing, forecasting, budgeting, tracking, and working directly with our clients to ensure priorities are aligned, deliveries are being met, and overall expectations are being met or exceeded for our engineering and construction projects. Responsible for what gets done.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
\tPlans all phases of the engineering project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
\tLeads project meetings, creates agendas, assigns action items, follows up on open action items, and holds team accountable for commitments.
\tCreates detailed schedule that outlines due dates for each task, rolling up to milestones and deliverables.
\tCreates and updates project level forecast monthly for all assigned projects.
\tMonitors utilization and works with design manager and permitting manager to ensure resources are correctly allocated to the project.
\tManages permit coordinators, ensures team is updating applicable trackers at appropriate intervals and sets priorities for them.
\tProfessionally communicates with clients and all other stakeholders (both internal and external).
\tClears roadblocks impacting the design, field, permitting, and GIS teams.
\tCollaborates with construction team members, design manager, field manager, permit manager and GIS manager.
\tProvides weekly updates on project financial health on internal calls and speaks to monthly forecast each week.
\tMeets with Jurisdictions Having Authority (JHAs) and communicates all applicable local, state, codes and regulations, and safety precautions are followed by the design and permitting team.
\tCoaches and mentors team members when appropriate.
\tConducts performance management functions when necessary and follows through with proper documentation.
\tEscalates internally when challenges arise between Design and PM teams for resolution.
\tSubmits and approves timesheets daily with the appropriate time coded to the project, aspect, and task.
\tConducts interviews of permit and project coordinator candidates and is involved in hiring decisions.
\tStays current with scope changes and understands the scope applicable to the work being performed to maintain change control and where appropriate, complete change orders with the client.
\tComes well prepared for meetings with client, peer managers and Squan Leadership.
\tFocuses on high level customer interaction to both internal and external customers.
\tOther duties as assigned by Director of PMO, Sr Project Manager, or Program Manager.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
\tKnows how to use standard project management software.
\tAbility to balance Client expectations with engineering needs and construction requirements and be able to balance being accountable to all three.
\tBuilds strong relationships with clients, contractors, and construction team.
\tStrong knowledge of outside plant engineering, permitting, and design
\tAbility to manage multiple projects in multiple markets simultaneously and/or the ability to manage one large project or program successfully.
\tAbility to comprehend complex scopes/statements of work and quickly identify out of scope
\tHas strong working knowledge of OSP that allows for building sufficiently detailed trackers, schedules, and budgets.
\tManages Permit Coordinators and Project Coordinators through regular communication, setting clear expectations, trains and coaches when needed, and assists with professional development.
\tExcels at organization, time-management, problem-solving, planning, forecasting and budgeting.
\tStrong work ethic, leads by example, takes ownership of project and tasks performed by himself/herself and the team, and does what it takes to get the job done and meet/exceed client expectations.
\tAttention to detail and takes pride in his/her work.
\tVery proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and with various other software programs for data entry.
\tAbility to communicate professionally at all times, with clarity, at the frequencies required by management and customers.
\tAbility to understand different personalities and adjust approach accordingly.
\tAble to articulate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terms
\tMust be able to give feedback in a constructive manner and be able to adjust messaging based on the audience to get the desired results.
\tAttends client meetings and represents Squan as the single point of contact for projects assigned.
\tAbility to travel to multiple sites as required.
\tWork independently with minimal supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
\tMust be 18 or older
\tThree years of telecommunication project management experience or 5 years of experience in a Lead or Coordinator role with similar responsibilities in the telecommunication industry
\tAble to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner
\tStrong proficiency in MS Office
\tStrong communication skills, both written and oral
\tValid drivers license
\tMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
REQUIREMENTS
\tBi-lingual (Spanish/English)
\tBachelors degree in Business Administration, management, engineering or a related degree
\tPMP Certification
\tExperience managing turnkey, EPC, and design/build projects in the telecommunication industry.
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 Hourly
