Engineering/Project Manager Job Description:

The Engineering/Project Manager will play a key role in the successful planning, execution, and management of the hardware engineering teams and projects related to the design, development, and deployment of our systems. This individual will lead the hardware engineering group while working closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Operations, Sales, Production, Software Development and Leadership to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and communication skills who also possesses a deep understanding of project management methodologies and has experience in managing complex technical projects. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Lead the planning and execution of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met. Create detailed project plans based on a defined project scope and objectives while leading the project team by providing direction and motivation. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to align project goals and ensure successful attainment of project objectives. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. 
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to project success. Address project challenges and resolve issues quickly and effectively. 
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and budgets, to ensure that projects are completed on time and within the defined budget. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular project updates, progress reports, and presenting key findings. Ensure all stakeholders are aligned on project goals and timelines. 
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory compliance, particularly in relation to safety and performance requirements of our products. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate completed projects and processes, identifying areas for improvement and applying lessons learned to enhance future projects. 

 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Five or more years of technical project management experience. 
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field (Master’s ). 
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines. 
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills. 
  • Proven success working with all levels of management. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

 

skills and qualifications:

  • PMP or equivalent professional project management certification. 
  • Experience in developing platforms for internal processes. 
  • Experience in coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets. 
  • Strong understanding of autonomous systems, AI, robotics, and vehicle technology is highly desirable. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams and with various stakeholders. 
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira, MS Project). 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
