Engine Air System Engineering Team Leader: We are currently seeking an Engineering Team Leader to join the Component Engineering Wuxi Base L3 Air Fuel A/T Engine Team. This role will be focused on lead a team to solve a technical problem or create a particular item or portion of a process within budget, while meet the requirements of the internal or external customer. The successful candidate will serve as an experienced team lead on assignments that are complex in nature, working with individuals and teams across global Manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: As a team leader in the team, you will be expected to have account for up to 50% of assignment the remainder of the time, the incumbent acts as individual contributor, bring technical expertise to the project as well. Team leaders must manage their own development, continuously learning through experience new business knowledge and skill. Program/project management and strong organizational skills are critical, a mix of design and development experience, knowledge of IC engines and be able to lead, plan and execute challenging tasks/projects. • Develop world class air system designs to meet design requirements for multiple world-wide applications • Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop product requirements for new product programs • Collaborate with suppliers to optimize designs to meet performance, reliability, durability, and cost targets • Direct the work of off-site engineering groups providing analysis and detailing services • Complete design FMEA’s and develop validation requirements for new and improved designs • Experience collaborating with suppliers using the APQP process • Lead and support projects that promote aftermarket part sales • Create product validation plans and lead execution of these plans • Analyze field warranty and failure data to resolve product problems • Develop and maintain detailed project plans • Provide design reviews to update management and stakeholders on project status • Keep up to date on current technologies and develop new technologies • Communicate technical information to team members, suppliers, internal customers, and other business units Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering • 8+ years of design engineering experience • 5+ years of air system (Turbo, EGR, etc) design and development experience • Experience collaborating with engine air system component and system OEM suppliers Top Candidates will also have: • Caterpillar design engineering experience • Experience with Caterpillar tool and management of activities • Incumbents must have demonstrated excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments • Requires a self-starter with strong technical leadership skills • Must have ability to communicate technical information internally and externally with suppliers • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously Posting Dates: July 15, 2024 - July 21, 2024 Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO).
