Engineering Team Manager (ETM)

SHAPE THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY FROM DAY ONE.This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment.Summary:Aptiv is seeking an Engineering Team Manager for its Advanced Safety and User Experience products. You will be building and working with a team of highly motivated individuals that work on various automotive technologies to enhance driver experience, prevent accidents, and save lives.In this role, you will lead a team to design, develop, and validate new products and technology such that capability, cost, and quality satisfy the customer requirements. You will identify the key skills required for each of the roles and level needed within your team. You will ensure that the skill gaps are immediately addressed through formal and on-the-job training, internal transfers, or external hiring.Responsibilities:Seek and hire best in class, motivated, and engaged employees that display behavioral traits aligned with company and competency values and goalsEstablish an onboarding process that is structured, consistent, and adjustable to the skillset and experience of the new hireManage people performance and provide coaching / mentoring guidance as neededEnsure development opportunities are defined and available for all team membersParticipate in talent review sessionsAcknowledge team success; reward and promote team members based on contributionsProvide input to staffing planning to support new contracts and organizational adjustmentsManage the engineering team to ensure that proper planning and execution plans are in place meet program requirements; drive solutionsStay connected with team members to maintain deep understanding and progress of workRemove impediments that are blocking team performanceDrive excellence by fostering the culture of pursuing perfectionDrive quality into the standard way of workingDrive team compliance to the standard way of workingPlan, monitor, and control capabilities of the teamActively participate in the customer communication for engineering, when requiredManage the team budget and capital planningMust Haves (Basic Qualifications):Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, systems, or related field of study)5+ years professional experience in Automotive Industry or Consumer Electronics3+ years management experienceBi-lingual – proficient in English speaking/reading/writingInterpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a positive approach to challengeCross functional interests, ambitious and self-driven.
