Engineering Technician Department: Design Position Type: Full Time Salary Range:  $55,000 - $65,000 plus super  Benefits: Skills training at the company's expense Semi-annual KPI appraisal Performace-based commission and salary bonus Award Classification: Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010 [MA000010] Award Category:   C4 - Engineering Associate/Laboratory Technical Officer ANZCO Code:  312512 Work Eligibility:  Able to work in Australia with no restriction Purpose of the position: Project management of multiple projects at different stages Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation Post project customer support Qualifications: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in mechanical engineering (or equivalent international qualification). Experience: Minimum of 1-year experience in machine design or relevant engineering role.  Experience in automation or manufacturing industry preferred but not essential. Familiarity with safety requirements of machine design Sound knowledge of PLC’s, sensors, pneumatics, servo motors, conveyors and robotic based automation systems Knowledge, or the ability to quickly gain knowledge in robotic based automation systems Be familiar with manufacturing practice and experience in automation and robotic design concepts ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Project management Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages Ability to work to deadlines and budgets Experience in specification and ordering of purchase components Experience in the development of machine manuals and documentation Demonstrated skills in document and revision control Ability to provide exceptional post-project customer support Machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation Selecting tools and equipment Assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements Performing and directing field and laboratory tests Collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant Ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions Demonstrated ability and experience in machine assembly, testing, commissioning and installation Ability to assist with prototyping, testing and design validation Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment Ability to provide exceptional post project customer support PERSONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Proven ability to work independently and with others in a vibrant, team-orientated environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience, with the ability to accurately and effectively convey information to clients at all levels Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and build relationships cross-culturally and at all levels, and rapidly establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders Self-motivated with a proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritise workloads with competing demands Strong work ethic with prioritisation, time-management and deadline achievement skills Willingness and ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment including technological changes Be able to work with minimal supervision.
