**2nd shift - 2pm-1030pm OR 4pm-1230am (initially train on 1st shift 6am-230pm)
**This is an onsite position, located in Hudson, MA
SUMMARY: In this position, the Engineering Technician II’s will provide daily technical support in a production environment and ensure that manufacturing best practices are followed to exceed established Quality, On Time Delivery, and Cost (QDC) standards. They will identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement using a combination of available software, equipment, and engineering problem solving tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Engineering Technician II, you should be a hands-on problem-solver, and demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering terminology, collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, and possess a high level of organization. Outstanding engineering technicians are self-starters with an insatiable curiosity, a superb work ethic, and strong interpersonal skills.
Analyzes and creates the following under supervision of an Engineer:
- Manufacturing work instructions.
- Manufacturing prints in standard and metric units of measure.
- Qualification protocols for equipment and processes (IQ, OQ, and PQ).
- Process routing steps to support production employees and initiate continuous improvement activities.
- Test or validation data to make informed decisions about how to improve machinery, materials, measurement, method, training, and/or the environment.
- Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to update part specific information (Part information, manufacturing print, process routing and parameters, coating requirements, etc).
Demonstrates understanding and has 3-5 years of experience with the following:
- Environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, dew point.
- Engineering Problem Solving tools including 5 Whys, Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Charts, DMAIC template, etc.
- Commonly used fastening methods (welding, rivets, bolts/pem inserts, and bolts/nuts) and ability to identify threads by visual inspection.
- Hands on fabrication skills including, grinding, welding, raw material saw cutting using horizontal and vertical band saws, electrical wiring, and soldering to build and repair prototype and production fixtures, racks, and equipment.
- Measuring parts, fixtures, equipment using precision measuring tools (vernier/caliper, micrometer, scale, profilometer).
- Mixing and spraying a variety of medical and industrial coatings. A pulmonary respiratory test is required.
- Basic machining skills including squaring up raw material, drilling and tapping holes.
- Use of viscometer, HiPot Testing (dry and wet), ColorEye ( matching), PH Testing using strips and meters.
- ERP system to source product specific information (Part information, manufacturing print, process routing and parameters, coating requirements, etc)
- Minitab or JMP Statistical software.
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software to view, and design part and assembly models and create drawings for tooling and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher)
- High school diploma; a certificate from a community college or vocational-technical school; associate degree in engineering technology or similar, a plus
- 3-5 years of relevant education or experience in engineering technology, design technology, or a related field
- Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Writes routine reports and correspondence.
- Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides numbers (using currency and other forms of measurement).
- Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
- Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
- Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers. Must be able to speak and hear. The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally sit, stoop and crouch. Requires mental and visual attention to detail as well as hand coordination. Occasionally lifting or moving average weight material. The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination or part-time normal and part-time concentrated attention and coordination.
SKILLS: Employee must be able to read and interpret documents written in English. Employees must be able to have good communication with fellow employees, supervisors, and management.
