JOB DESCRIPTION
The Vehicle Subsystem Test team is responsible for the test design and test execution of EE, Powertrain components and sub-systems specifically tailored for our autonomous mobility service. As a Central Test Engineering Technician for powertrain systems you will work hand-in-hand with the Powertrain Engineering team, Our team has an action biased culture marked by integrity, humility, competence, and a passion for the mission and the systems we design. Responsibilities
- Prepare / build testing hardware for the EE systems to the component level
- Troubleshoot testing hardware for the EE systems to the component level
- Collaborate with design engineers to develop test systems that are appropriate to their needs
- Making, updating and repairing wire harnesses for EV vehicles in the stage of development.
- Support engineering lab preparedness by maintaining inventory, clear workspace and sufficient T&ME (Test and Measurement Equipment) and tools
- Perform FW updates on embedded HW systems (In lab and in the field)
Qualifications
- Knowledge of high voltage battery systems and safe work practices
- Passion for electric, autonomous mobility and specifically electrical systems development
- AS or Trade school certificate in mechatronics, electronics or other relevant field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience related to automotive wire harness or electric vehicle systems
- Understanding of basic diagnostics processes
- Experience with maintenance and repair of power electronics, and low voltage PCBA circuits.
- Able to read wire harness drawings and manage wire circuit lists.
- Ability to solder, crimp, strip and fabricate harnesses.
- Ability to read wire harness schematics, product specific documentation and work instructions knowledge and/or skills of operating test equipment used for harness manufacturing.
- Experience with a wide variety of test and measurement equipment including but not limited to:
- DAQ
- DC Power supplies / E-load
- Oscilloscope / DMM / Rogowski sensors / Hall sensors
- Load cell / strain gauge / Accelerometers / LVDT
- Accelerometer
- Pressure transducer
- Thermocouples / RTD / Thermistors
- Arbin Cell Test systems
- RF / EMF meters
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with manual metal fabrication tools and processes: MIlling/lathe/drill/punch/press/bandsaw/shear/welding (TIG & MIG)
- Familiarity with 3D design tools. Solidworks / Fusion 360 / AutoCAD
- Through hole, SMA soldering / rework experience
- EMI / EMC test techniques exposure and experience
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified standard Expert (CSE)
