We’re growing again and are looking for an Enterprise Software Architect to join our team!

 

A2Z Sync is revolutionizing the automotive retail experience. We are a software and dealer-services company that enables dealerships to modernize and transform the car buying experience. Our mission is to make the complex journey of automotive retail simpler and more profitable. We are embarking on an ambitious initiative to completely reimagine the customer journey and build an omni-channel digital platform that enables a seamless transaction process whether online or in-store in collaboration with a large online retail partner.

 

Overview 

We are seeking a talented and energetic software architect to embark on a hands-on journey to modernize our entire application stack. In this role, you will be at the forefront of executing on our technical vision and strategy, aligning closely with our overarching product and business goals, and responding adeptly to customer, partner and market demands. You will lead all aspects of research and development of our new application platform from inception through to market delivery, championing innovation and ensuring our solutions meet our customers' needs effectively. You will be guiding and mentoring multiple agile product development teams in building and launching new applications and systems in an iterative and incremental approach. This role demands a highly analytical, technical, and collaborative individual who can work seamlessly across various functions and teams, guiding our products to drive aggressive growth for both our customers and business. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Architectural Leadership: Define and drive the overall software architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards.
  • System Design: Design and implement scalable, high-performance, and secure micro services and micro front-end software systems that meet the needs of our growing customer base.
  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance our software development processes and product offerings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including design patterns, technical specifications, and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and reliability of software through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Customers & Partners: Be the Technical Subject Matter Expert for the company with customers & partners. Lead the collaboration on the collection of technical requirements and designs and elicit voice of customer at every step of the development process. Be obsessed with customer experience and satisfaction and build a culture within the company for the same.
  • Vision and Strategy: Develop, articulate, and continuously align the technical vision and strategy with the company's goals, driving the product roadmap with a keen focus on impact, customer needs, and business objectives. You’re a strategic thinker adept at linking customer use cases with technology solutions for a holistic end-to-end experience. 
  • Customer-Centric Design: Deeply understand customer pain points and desires, translating these into innovative products and features. Synthesize feedback from external stakeholders into actionable insights, shaping our product offerings.  

Required Qualifications 

  • 15+ years of overall software development experience, especially within a fast-paced SaaS startup environment. 
  • 10+ years of experience working in the retail automotive industry and a strong understanding of dealership systems and processes.
  • 5+ years of experience building cloud applications in Java running on AWS.
  • 5+ years of cloud experience, specifically with multiple AWS service offerings.
  • 5+ years of experience working with teams spread across multiple geographies and time zones with flexibility in work hours and schedules.
  • 2+ years as an Enterprise Software Architect building micro services and micro front ends using domain driven design and other architectural patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate a technology vision and strategy that motivates teams and focuses efforts on achieving business goals. 
  • Strong technical background, with a deep understanding of product, technology, allowing for effective research and solutioning. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences. 
  • A strong sense of ownership, drive, and a pragmatic attitude, with a track record of building products and systems from concept to market.
