Associate Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist

This is a unique employment opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated engineer to join a growing forensic engineering and architecture firm. Basecamp AEC is an engineering and architecture firm that specializes in investigating and repairing damaged structures. Projects will include investigating civil and geotechnical failures as well designing repairs for damage caused by natural loading events, soil failures, and construction defects. Civil/geotechnical site experience are a plus. Must be physically able to access open holes and trenches.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering;
• Master’s or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology ;
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication;
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and help on a variety of projects.
• Must be a Colorado Front Range candidate - no remote work.
• Candidate will conduct field work such as logging borings, collecting samples, and field documentation.
• Candidate will be involved with ground improvement and foundation repairs.

New graduates will be considered but 1-2 years of work experience is .

The successful candidate will assist project managers in the performance of geotechnical field evaluations, forensic assessments, and construction projects

· Duties include geotechnical subsurface evaluations, supervision of excavation subcontractors, logging and classification of soils in the field, performance of floor level surveys, documentation of distressed structures, and assistance in reviewing construction documents including plans and specifications

· Additional duties include compilation of geotechnical laboratory test data, performing lab tests, geotechnical calculations and performance of engineering calculations for slope stability, lateral earth pressure, foundation capacity, settlements, and deep foundation design
