CP&A is looking to hire a full-time EIT Project Engineer focusing on structural design. We are a unique structural focused engineering firm in the sense that we primarily deal with cranes and one-of-a-kind structures. We take basic structural engineering principles and code requirements and apply them to atypical structures such as a container crane or ship building crane. We have served clients all around the world; as you progress here, opportunities for international travel will present itself. Your responsibilities will include assisting lead engineers with the design and review of structures from concept and planning to construction and project management. Technical responsibilities include but are not limited to: Sizing of structural members, designing connections, finite element analysis, and AutoCAD drafting. You will receive training and mentorship from experienced, licensed professional/structural engineers and will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structural engineering
- Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
- US EIT Certification
- 0-5 years experience
- AutoCAD drafting skills
- Experience with finite element analysis
- Familiar with ASCE 7 and AISC 360
- Must be able to work in the United States
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and Bluebeam
- Familiar with SAP2000, Inventor, or Solidworks
- Object Oriented Programming (C#, Visual Studio, VBA, etc.)
- Knowledge of international codes such as EN, DIN, JIS, or GB
- Knowledge of dynamic analysis of structures and non-linear analysis
- Experience in steel connection design
- Master of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structural engineering
