With sustainability and responsible resource management at the core of its success, Kruger has several facilities and products certified to the highest industry standards.POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Environment, Health & Safety Director – Pulp & Paper and Containerboard & Packaging divisions, the incumbent manages environment, health, and safety by ensuring optimal use of prevention mechanisms. He/she is involved in the implementation of the Environment, Health and Safety strategic plan for the Containerboard & Packaging (5 sites) and Pulp & Paper (3 sites) divisions. This position is a 12- 14 month contract. RESPONSIBILITIES Participates in and supports the development and implementation of the EHS strategic plan at the divisional and site levels.Participates in the development of EHS management system procedures and appropriate control measures. Develops EHS communication materials as part of the monthly campaign or any other EHS communications. Develops, coordinates, and implements various elements of EHS measures at all levels and follow-up mechanisms. Supports the sites in the development and implementation of corrective measures following external audits. Supports the implementation of EHS data management modules, e.g.: incident management module, audits, and risk analysis. Provides support in the implementation of a learning management system (LMS). QUALIFICATIONS·University degree in environment or occupational health and safety certification combined with relevant experience or any other experience deemed relevant. EXPERIENCE ·5 to 8 year's of experience in a similar position and within a unionized environment. SKILLS AND ABILITIES ·Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement continuous improvement programs to reduce risk.·Current knowledge of environment and occupational health and safety laws and regulations.·Ability to work with Environment Health and Safety databases.·Excellent ability to influence and motivate teams.·Ability to make the right decisions in complex situations.·Ability to manage several files concurrently.·Ability to work under pressure. LANGUAGES ·Bilingual - French / English.Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them. Kruger has taken all reasonable steps to avoid imposing English language requirements, including assessing the actual language needs associated with the duties to be performed, ensuring that the language skills already required of other employees were insufficient for the performance of those duties, and limiting as much as possible the number of positions with duties requiring English language skills.
