UNYSE is hiring staff to conduct evaluations of lead-based paint in low-income and market rate housing throughout NYC. Successful candidates will be expected to complete HUD & EPA certification training as condition of employment. No experience necessary, but a background in environmental services and/or academic interest is required. Great entry level opportunity!

Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct visual assessment of paint condition and other environmental health hazards
• Coordinate and collaborate with housing , building managers, agency representatives, and community organizations
• Operate hand-held data collection equipment
• Collection of samples and data gathering
• Prepare daily records and closeout reports
• Participate in weekly and other team meetings as appropriate
• Support broad mission and policy efforts and initiatives
• Other duties assigned related to organizational mission and programs

Education and Experience
• Demonstrated interest in environmental health
• Experience in environmental services, construction, property renovation and/or home improvement is a plus
• College degree required - Associates minimum, Bachelors
• Holder of current Lead or Asbestos certification desired but not required, willingness to obtain certifications
• 75% of repetitive standing, lifting, bending, stretching, walking & traveling.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Professional, positive work ethic and desire to make a difference
