The successful candidate will lead and support environmental site assessment, remediation, and monitoring projects for infrastructure and pipeline developments throughout British Columbia. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that contribute to environmental stewardship and compliance. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Plan and conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with BC regulations and federal guidelines. Design and execute soil, groundwater, and surface water investigations to assess contamination levels and sources. Interpret analytical data and develop comprehensive site assessment reports, including risk assessments and recommendations for remediation. Develop and implement remediation strategies for contaminated sites, ensuring compliance with the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation (CSR). Liaise with provincial and federal regulatory agencies, ensuring project activities align with environmental legislation. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice on environmental risk and liability issues. Manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables for multiple environmental projects concurrently. Ensure field activities are conducted in compliance with company health and safety protocols. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on contaminated sites, ideally within the infrastructure and pipeline sectors in BC. Certifications PAg, PBiol, or other relevant professional designations; CSAP certification (an asset). Strong knowledge of environmental site assessment techniques, contaminated site regulations, and remediation technologies. Proficient in GIS, data visualization tools, and statistical analysis software. Excellent technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preference is for candidates to be based out of Fort St James, Fort St John, and Prince George, BC. However, we will consider candidates that reside outside of these areas. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading and joining field teams in various disciplines (wildlife, birds, fish, aquatic habitat, water quality, vegetation, soils, wetlands, environmental monitoring, sediment, and erosion control) Contributing to environmental impact assessments, mitigation plans, and proposals. Assisting in preparing and obtaining regulatory approvals for a wide variety of projects such as transportation, renewable energy, mining, oil, and gas, etc. Senior level responsibilities could include Field Coordination and Project Management Technical leadership and mentorship within a team environment Promoting a strong safety culture and working collaboratively within corporate culture More About You To qualify, you will need a minimum of a B.Sc. in Biology or related discipline with five years’ experience, and RPBio, PBiol, and/or P.Ag. designation or eligibility. Courses or certifications in the following areas would be considered assets: · Electrofishing Certification (approved by WorkSafe BC) · Fish identification · Bird survey methodology and bird identification · Amphibian salvage methodology and amphibian identification · Erosion and Sediment Control · Plant identification Candidates with the following skills and experience will be considered: Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting a variety of field activities (i.e., wildlife assessments, bird surveys, water quality, fisheries inventories/ salvage, environmental monitoring/inspection) Knowledge of the provincial and federal environmental assessment regulatory environment Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management skills and physically fit Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent writing and communication skills, desire to grow business, and work closely (both in a field lead and support role) with other environmental professionals, environmental discipline leads, and First Nations Proficiency in the operation of field equipment is an asset Due to the nature of the role, you must have a valid Driver's License.
