Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
Perform and/or manage site assessment fieldwork, pilot and bench-scale programs for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater technologies;
Prepare remediation action plans for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater remediation projects including drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, and technical specifications;
Work plan development and data evaluation;
Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and proposals.
Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
Manage work to meet contract schedules, appropriate codes and regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement and industry standard-of-care criteria;
Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan; and
Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
Education and Licensure:
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related engineering or science (e.g., geochemistry, chemical engineering). (required)
Masters degree or Ph.D. in environmental engineering or related engineering or science (e.g., geochemistry, chemical engineering). ()
Professional registration in California or ability to receive within one year. (i.e., P.G. or P.E.). ()
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
At least 5 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
Experience with PFAS sampling, data analysis, and/or research. (required)
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (required)
Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients. (required)
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. ()
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
Minimum Salary: $78,465/year / Maximum Salary: $122,040/year (Costa Mesa)
