We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our manufacturing locations comply with all applicable EHS requirements. This position involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to establish and monitor programs that drive excellence in environmental, health, safety, and sustainability. The successful candidate will lead safety and health committees, provide EHS input for policy development, and deliver bilingual training programs. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, conducting audits, and coordinating incident investigations. Responsibilities:
- Ensure the manufacturing locations comply with applicable environmental, health and safety (EHS) requirements
- Serve as integral part of the manufacturing operations by collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to monitor or establish the necessary programs to ensure excellent results in environment, health, safety, and sustainability
- Maintain and submit required permitting submissions for air, water, waste, and land jurisdictional requirements as they pertain to the USEPA, CTDEP, ELUR and other local regulatory agencies
- Actively lead site’s safety and health committees, providing guidance and direction
- Provide EHS input in developing and implementing policies, work practices, guidelines and procedures
- Develop and deliver bilingual training programs to comply with regulatory and corporate EHS initiatives
- Develop, maintain and evaluate appropriate metrics to drive continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
- Coordinate incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and legal processes
- Conduct environmental, health and safety audits and risk assessments
- Serve as point of contact for external EHS compliance and loss prevention audits
- Serve as liaison between the company and governmental agencies
- Participate in the site's Continuous Improvement/Lean/5S activities
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science or equivalent or related field required
- Minimum six years of experience in an environmental, health and safety position in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum two years in EHS leadership role
- Detailed knowledge and practical application of the environmental, health and safety regulations in both the Federal and state of Connecticut
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, claims handling, accident investigation and insurance programs and policies
- Ability to travel 25% of work time
- Ability to understand and apply Federal, State and local regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient
Desired:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written
- Master’s degree
- ISO 14001:2015 experience
- Experience in electrical parts machinery and assembly industry
- Proficient in CAD
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
