We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team in the site development industry. This role is ideal for someone passionate about promoting workplace safety, ensuring compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across construction sites.
Responsibilities:
- Safety Audits: Conduct weekly site safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, unsafe practices, or regulatory violations.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all employees and subcontractors adhere to company safety policies and industry regulations.
- Incident Management: Assist in reporting, investigating, and documenting incidents, near-misses, and workplace accidents; suggest corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Training Support: Organize and deliver safety training sessions on topics such as hazard recognition, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and emergency response procedures.
- Documentation Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date records of safety meetings, training logs, incident reports, and safety audits.
- Safety Culture Promotion: Participate actively in safety meetings, near-miss programs, and toolbox talks to promote a strong culture of safety awareness among workers and management.
- PPE Oversight: Ensure proper use, availability, and condition of personal protective equipment on-site; assist in distributing PPE when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in environmental health and safety management, preferably in the construction or site development industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail; proficiency in using computer software and systems to manage and track safety data and information.
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar professional certification .
