Environmental Officer, Transport and Main Roads

Our vision is to create a single integrated transport network accessible to everyone - no department has a bigger role to play in keeping the Queensland of today moving, or in helping build for the future.To help keep Queensland moving, we are actively recruiting for an Environmental Officer with previous exposure to:• Providing technical and specialist environmental advice regarding implementation of environmental assessments, legislation, compliance and management during all project phases.• Undertaking environmental assessments, environmental management plans, contract specifications, audits and briefs to engage external resources.• Exercising creativity and initiative in investigating, analysing and conceptualising possible options to meet design objectives.• Working with internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to road infrastructure development activities in your jurisdiction.• Identify possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptions to design briefs, as necessary.• Providing guidance on the scope and direction of project activities as well as being a key advisor to project management teams with regards to environmental issues.A degree qualification from a tertiary institution in environmental science, environmental management, environmental planning, resource management, environmental engineering or other equivalent qualifications is a mandatory requirement of this role.For further information please refer to the Role Description.We celebrate diversity in creating a workplace culture that is built on respect, dignity and fairness.
