ICP Group is seeking an environmental expert to lead and manage environmental due diligence, including environmental permitting, for our North America sites. This position will report directly to the EHS Director. Comprehensive environmental permitting and technical expertise and excellent communication, organizational, and program management skills are required for this position. This position will ideally be based out of our Tampa, FL or Andover, MA facilities but can be local to any of our plants.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage environmental due diligence activities across multiple concurrent development efforts throughout North America, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, noise studies, air permitting, wetlands/water permitting, and biological and cultural resource evaluations.
  • Working with other team members, promote environmental compliance through construction and facility operations, including support for training, auditing, and maintaining permit compliance.
  • Evaluate plants for environmental impacts (e.g., noise impacts, air permitting implications, and fuel management).
  • Scope, review findings, and provide clear direction to internal teams on environmental conditions and permitting.
  • Lead environmental permitting and regulatory compliance efforts for Title V air permits, and environmental impact studies. Understand and communicate.
  • Develop, summarize, and clearly communicate environmental obligations.
  • Provide environmental expertise to diverse internal teams and coordinate with other internal stakeholders about relevant issues and requirements, including Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams where needed.
  • Develop training and educational tools regarding environmental goals, compliance, and awareness.
  • Stay current on changes in environmental policy and regulations to assess and mitigate risks to the project portfolio.
  • Anticipate, identify, and recognize workplace hazards (or health hazard identification).
  • Investigate and examine our plants for current risks, emerging, and developing risks.
  • Analyze the risks stemming from the identified workplace hazards.
  • Carry out industrial hygiene field measurements to verify levels of pollution at our plants.
  • Conduct surveys and observe work conditions to identify processes which pose a risk to health of employees.
  • Analyze and interpret results of an assessment to develop plans for improved work conditions.
  • Assist in facilitating the growth of the environmental program as the company continues to grow and build environmental excellence.
  • Maintain EH&S compliance and timely reporting (e.g. permits, licenses, and maintaining appropriate records) for federal, state and local laws and applicable agency regulations.
  • Participate as a team player and willing to assume additional tasks/responsibilities as assigned.

 

Experience needed

 

  • B.S. in Safety, Health, Environment or related field preferred
  • 5-10 years EH&S experience in chemical manufacturing or R&D environment
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental due diligence and permitting efforts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (written and oral communication, people management and influencing) with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with air permitting.
  • Experience managing projects and effectively coordinating with internal staff and external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience working in teams and establishing and maintaining cross-functional and positive working relationships.
  • Experience working with confidential information.
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively, close the loop, and follow specific instruction (work instructions, procedures, etc.)
  • Ability to remain calm/collected and assume a leadership role in emergency and/or hazardous situations.
  • Excellent organizational/administration skills; high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to exhibit the highest degree of professionalism, good judgment and positive attitude
  • Demonstrated success in a team environment in achieving high performance and goal objectives
  • MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook software proficiency
  • Aptitude to use other databases and computer systems and software as needed
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus 
  • Travel up to 40% but flexing higher when needed.
