Environmental Project Manager-(167515)DescriptionAbout Us HDR is looking for an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our highly collaborative team in New York and New Jersey. The successful candidate for this position will be a well-rounded, team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who is capable of coordinating and leading activities related to environmental siting, planning, permitting, and compliance. This position would work with a dynamic team of environmental scientists, regulatory specialists, and engineers to lead and support projects that include renewable energy, offshore wind, and linear facility (e.g., transmission line) projects. We will look to the successful candidate to lead a variety of environmental permitting and documentation projects or tasks that may include NEPA and/or SEQRA documentation, biological assessments, environmental compliance documentation, environmental field studies, compliance monitoring, and reporting. The ideal candidate has direct experience with Article VII (Siting of Major Utility Transmission Facilities) and/or Article X (Siting of Major Generating Facilities) of the NY Public Service Law. Primary Responsibilities: Perform project management responsibilities for environmental studies and permitting projects, including preparing and managing scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and issue resolution; manage teams to deliver several projects concurrently. Lead the development of NEPA and/or SEQRA documentation, including the assessment of project-related effects on environmental resources. Lead the development of technical studies and coordinate HDR’s multi-disciplined environmental staff in executing fieldwork. Assess and analyze project impacts to identify permit requirements and develop strategies to avoid or minimize project effects. Lead and/or participate in consultation with state and federal permitting agencies and the public, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Support other project managers across disciplines in completing required studies, documents, and reports. Support marketing needs, including client development and strategies to expand our environmental practices in New Jersey and New York. Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. Keyword(s): Environmental Permitting, Project Manager, NEPA, Environmental Scientist #LI-EH1QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related fields. 5+ years’ experience working with permitting including federal, state, and local environmental permits in New Jersey and New York. Experience with wetlands, fisheries, terrestrial, water quality, and other related environmental studies. Demonstrated understanding of the NEPA process and experience leading the development of Environmental Assessments and/or Environmental Impact Statements. Demonstrated knowledge of New York and New Jersey environmental permitting, Proficiency with MS Office suite, strong people skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills. Preferred Qualifications Two to five years of experience working on SEQR Environmental Reviews. Demonstrated CEQR experience. Experience with Article VII and Article X applications in New York.
