The Calibration Technician ensures measurement accuracy by performing calibration on a variety of test and measurement equipment, specializing in high-voltage test systems like power supplies, grid modulators, and vacuum ion pumps. This role involves diagnosing, calibrating, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety and technical standards.
Essential Functions:
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory, inspection, measurement, and high-voltage test equipment.
- Develop diagnostic techniques for unique repairs and measurements.
- Interpret test results, compare against specifications, and ensure compliance.
- Document calibration procedures and technical methods as needed.
- Assist in developing measurement techniques for complex or unique scenarios.
- Coordinate with service providers for calibration, repair, and parts.
- Maintain metrology standards per NIST requirements.
- Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Education:
- High school diploma required.
- AA in Electrical Engineering or similar field but not mandatory.
Qualifications:
- Experience calibrating high-voltage and RF equipment.
- Knowledge of dimensional measurement instruments and torque tooling.
- Familiarity with RF Waveguide and Coaxial Connector calibrations.
- Strong troubleshooting, math, and technical skills.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Minimum 3 years of calibration experience or formal metrology training.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z-540, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.
