Job Description

As an Estate Planning Attorney, you will manage cases throughout the process, from initial intake through signing and funding. If you are a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail and have extensive experience with estate planning, we would love to hear from you!

Duties

  • Manage Caseload: Oversee estate planning matters from inception through completion.
  • Document Drafting: Draft powers of attorney, advance directives, wills, and trusts; handle Forms 706 and 709, as well as state tax returns and waiver forms.
  • Trust Administration: Assist clients with trust administration and accounting tasks.
  • Client Communication: Provide regular updates to clients and address their inquiries promptly.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals and other attorneys to ensure timely progression of cases.
  • Organization: Maintain and organize client files with meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements

  • License: Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years as an Estate Planning Attorney; experience with revocable and irrevocable trusts; proficiency with Forms 706 and 709, state tax returns, and waiver forms.
  • Detail-Oriented: Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Time Management: Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Independent: Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Office and experience with CRM and law practice management software, including timekeeping.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
