The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and successful company where you will be responsible for assessing project requirements, conducting detailed take-offs, and producing cost plans to help deliver projects within budget and on time.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing detailed cost estimates for projects ranging up to £3 million, covering all stages from design to completion\nConducting site visits to assess project scope, gather information, and evaluate risks\nReviewing and analyzing tender documents, specifications, and drawings to prepare comprehensive estimates\nDeveloping accurate and competitive tender submissions, considering labor, materials, and overhead costs\nLiaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and develop procurement strategies\nIdentifying and managing project risks and ensuring that costs are controlled throughout the project lifecycle\nCollaborating with project managers, engineers, and the wider team to ensure project requirements are met\nProducing cost breakdowns, tender submissions, and project budgets for review by senior management\nManaging and monitoring project costs, offering advice and recommendations to ensure projects are delivered within budget\nEnsuring all estimates are completed in accordance with company procedures and industry standards\nSupporting the bid process, including presenting estimates to clients and stakeholdersWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nProven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry\nExperience with projects valued up to £3 million\nStrong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery\nExperience with cost estimating software (e.g., CostX, Estimator, or similar)\nStrong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy\nExcellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers\nAbility to assess project risks and deliver cost-effective solutions\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously\nA degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field ()\nMembership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is desirable but not essentialWhat you get in return:\n\nA competitive salary between £55,000 and £65,000 per annum, depending on experience\nA comprehensive benefits package, including pension contributions, healthcare, and performance-related bonuses\nOpportunities for career progression and professional development within a growing, forward-thinking company\nThe chance to work on exciting and diverse projects with values up to £3 million\nA collaborative and supportive work environment, where your contributions will be recognized and valued\nFlexible working arrangements to ensure a good work-life balanceThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a reputable company that offers a rewarding work environment, competitive salary, and opportunities for career advancement.\n\nApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist Mark Harris, or apply with your CV.\n\nBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
