Estimator - Main Contractor

Job Description

This Main Contractor based in Leicestershire undertake works across the healthcare, commercial and education sectors on projects ranging in value from £50,000 to £6,500,000 on a Design & Build or pre-designed arrangement and they have a need for an experienced Project Estimator.\n\nAs an Estimator, you will undertake or assist the pre-construction team, in undertaking the following duties;\n\n▪ Review of tender documentation to establish subcontract trade package and material requirements.\n\n▪ Assess tender documentation to compile individual trade package subcontract enquiries.\n\n▪ Compilation and issuing of tender enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers.\n\n▪ Assessment and alignment of received subcontract tenders.\n\n▪ Identify and compile Tender Qualifications / Exclusions.\n\n▪ Produce Tender Cost document from in-house standard form / format.\n\n▪ Identify any ‘gaps’ in pricing and capture via means of labour / plant / material pricing from 1st principle.\n\n▪ Ability to identify and build tender stage programmes.\n\n▪ Produce take-offs for general works (floor finishes, partitions, ceiling finishes etc).\n\n▪ Pricing of project Preliminaries based on programme durations and identification of preliminary requirements (welfare, waste, protection etc).\n\nEssential Requirements for the role;\n\n▪ 3-5 Years Estimating experience in a Main Contracting capacity in the healthcare, commercial or education sectors\n\n▪ Ability to work well under pressure, to meet tight timescales and deadlines.\n\n▪ Work well as part of a team as well as the ability to work with own initiative.\n\n▪ Committed to work beyond the core hour to ensure timescales and deadlines are achieved.\n\n▪ Desire and commitment to develop understanding of the role and the construction industry and differing sectors.\n\n▪ Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.\n\n▪ Excellent time management and negotiation skills.\n\n▪ Successful Enhanced DBS (This will be obtained by the Company as part of the onboarding process)
