Estimator Senior

Prepares, reviews, and submits accurate estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with services. This ensures accurate budgeting and planning can take place, supports the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure the project can be delivered profitably.Responsible for the development of project estimates and ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards. Supports more senior members of estimating team in the management of the contract or project estimating norms and the preparation and filing of project estimate documentation.May act as the focal point for several smaller, less complex project scopes. Typically Bachelors Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)• Typically requires a minimum of six (6) years of progressive industry experience, with at least four (4) years in estimating positions.• Good knowledge of estimating techniques and systems with a detailed knowledge of how these are applied • Detailed understanding of project management principles and techniques • Good understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management• Personal Attributes• Demonstrates commitment to Wood Values, Visions & Behaviours • Strong analytical skills and ability to use estimating methods • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Effective organization & planning skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment • Strong communication skills both written and oral • Uses initiative, experience and a proactive approach to problem solving • Commitment to continuous improvement • Ability to guide & mentor others undefined
