Executive Director, Environment and Science

The Department of Environment, Science and Innovation is seeking an Executive Director to lead our Office of Circular Economy (OCE).The OCE's goal is to elevate Queensland's resource recovery performance by facilitating, developing and implementing actions that recognise the value of waste to the economy as well as encourage investment in innovation, processing facilities and market development.To excel in this role, you will draw on your experience in delivering impactful and lasting programs within a complex environment. You will understand and apply fit-for-purpose program management methodologies, ensuring robust governance of the revenue generated from the waste levy and associated investment through the $1.1billion Recycling and Jobs Fund. You understand the role that stakeholders and partners play in achieving outcomes, and skilfully build and maintain relationships navigating diverse priorities and perspectives.As a leader, you build capability of those you work with, maintaining clarity and purpose even as priorities change. You consistently model our commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace.You will work with a team of engaged professionals, committed to managing, protecting, restoring and promoting Queensland's natural environment, cultural heritage, and enabling innovation for a future economy.
