Job Summary: This is a full-time on-site role for an Industrial and Control Electrician and will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of our asphalt plants. This role includes performing electrical repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring all plant electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently. The position will be reporting to the Plant Operations Manager
 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics for asphalt plants.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical components and systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct routine electrical inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with plant operators to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and urgent repair requests.
  • Maintain detailed records of electrical work and inspections.
  • Identify and source electrical parts and components as needed.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS:

  • Working around high levels of dust
  • Working around various types of chemicals, including gasoline, oil, diesel and other lubricants
  • Exposure to loud noise
  • Working in Extreme hot and cold climates


JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • 5-10 years of industrial electrician experience required.
  • 2+ years of hands on mechanical/electrical experience .

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working around mechanical equipment.
  • Experience working in construction industry desirable.
  • Electrical troubleshooting

  • PLC programming
  • Heavy machinery electrical systems

Machines, Tools and Equipment (Office and Industrial), Software:
Use of personal safety equipment including:

  • Hard Hat
  • Vest
  • Safety glasses
  • Hearing protection
  • Dust mask
  • Safety work boots (non-steal toe)
  • Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools
  • Understanding of ground and landscape layout

Licenses/Certification:

  • Must possess a valid State of Texas Electrical Journeyman License.
  • A valid Texas Class C Driver License.

Working Conditions:

  1. Regular hours, overtime involved
  2. Hot in summer and cold in winter.
  3. Exposure to long periods of direct sunlight
  4. Loud work areas.
  5. Dust, grease, oil, dirt and various chemicals on job site
  6. Rapid pace and constant changeovers
  7. Exposure to sun and rain
  8. Exposure to windy conditions at times

Other Requirements:
 

  1. Dependable.

  3. Flexible.
  4. Able to work extended hours when required (including some weekends).
  5. Ability to read, write speak and understand English .
  6. Capable of moving unheeded throughout the job site.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. Results oriented.
  9. Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  10. Reliable ability to arrive to job location within attendance requirements.
