Fabrication Shop Management: Supervisor/Lead-Man

Savannah Global Solutions is immediately hiring a Fabrication Shop Management as a Supervisor or Lead-Man for its Pembroke, GA based manufacturing facility, The Fabrication includes 20 various work bays for fabrication fitting and welding and 5 work bays for large product assembly and painting. Overhead and jib cranes are used for material handling of heavy carbon steel weldment assemblies.

The ideal candidate is experienced in carbon steel fabrication and large equipment assembly. Experience managing and or leading the needs of a productive team of fitters, welders, painters and assemblers is required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain Housekeeping and Safety Standards for a job shop environment.
• Manage Material requirements, Workflow and Quality Control for jobs assigned to the fabrication area of the business.
• Follow Disciplinary Guidelines for staff
• Effective Interface with Engineering and Operations Management to improve documentation and improve the efficiency and quality output of the machine shop.
• Direct interface skills with customers of the fabrication shop.
• Manage manhour utilization efficiently to ensure job deadlines are met on time.
• Knowledgeable and experienced in Flux Core and Mig Welding procedures.
• Hands On and able to provide field support of the company's field equipment operations.
• Accurately tracking of job time by trade and labor position using a digital based time system.
• Effectively maintain and use services resources effectively to keep shop equipment in good working order.
• Assist the development of new fitter, welders and assemblers as they are hired.

• Strong blue print interpretation and use experience
• Strong heavy carbon steel fitting and welding accumen
• Analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• safety compliance and equipment maintenance

Competitive compensation $30-$39 per hour or salary range of $62,000 to $85,000 annually based on experience. Health insurance, vacation, holiday, sick pay and 401k benefits included.
