Job Description:

The Facilities Electrician will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in throughout the property.

Position Type:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
  • Ability to perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards.
  • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning.
  • Ability to complete required documentation of repairs and service information.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts.
  • Ability to calibrate equipment to provided specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
  • Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel.
  • Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work.
  • Requires working / reaching overhead.
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment.
  • Willing to work overtime.
  • Employee must enter into a Vehicle agreement and possess a valid operator's license for the class of Company Vehicle being driven.

Competencies and Experience:

  • Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program required.
  • Completion of an electrician program at a technical or trade school .
  • Journeyman Electrician license required in state of practice.
  • 3-5 years of electrical experience.
  • Valid driver's license in state of practice.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment.
  • Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a combination of office and shop environments, both indoors and outdoors, with regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise and all weather conditions. Employees may be required to work weekends, evenings or overnight/on-call as the need arises. Protective equipment must be worn when circumstances require it; employees must wear a uniform, steel toed boots, back braces, and other safety gear as needed.
