Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout the Position:
The Facilities Supervisor will support the Facilities Manager and oversee daily maintenance operations for all buildings, properties, and equipment at the Wilmington, Delaware Port location. This role is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, supervising maintenance personnel, and ensuring that facilities and equipment remain in optimal working condition to support smooth operations and a safe work environment.
Key Functions & :
*Supervise daily maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general facility upkeep.
*Support the Facilities Manager in scheduling, coordinating, and reporting on facility projects and maintenance priorities.
*Oversee the work of union maintenance employees and assist with managing outside contractors.
*Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify maintenance and repair needs.
*Assist in coordinating security
-related facility work and respond promptly to facility
-related security concerns.
*Ensure completion of pest control services and other routine facility services.
*Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
*Perform minor repairs and routine housekeeping as needed.
*Support compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
*Assist with budget monitoring and job costing under the guidance of the Facilities Manager.
*Complete special projects and additional operational support duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
*HS Diploma or equivalent required; trade school education and/or technical training .
*Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, with at least 2
-3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
*Experience working with electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, carpentry, and material handling equipment.
*Strong problem
-solving, organizational, and time
-management skills.
*Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
*Basic math and job costing experience .
*Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors for extended periods.
*Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
*Valid driver"s license and reliable transportation required.
*TWIC card or eligibility to obtain one required.
*Ability to collaborate with various departments, vendors, and visitors in a professional manner.
