Our company is hiring for a corporation that is owns and provides maintenance on a 13-story high end commercial building in Sarasota. They are seeking someone that is mechanically minded and has performed work on building controls or large chiller/boilers.
General Summary
Work as part of a team to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, mechanical systems, equipment, and grounds. Monitor building system operations and performance. Support tenants by providing excellent customer service through effective communication, professional interactions, and timely resolution of required maintenance and repairs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions
- Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes landscaping, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning.
- Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance of plumbing, HVAC, electrical and irrigation systems. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
- Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair.
- Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
- Maintain an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
- Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
- Experience with chillers AND cooling towers OR VFDs access control systems and energy management systems necessary.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Document work orders and repair history including dates/times and vendor details.
- Document and track inspection due dates for fire panels, backflow preventers, elevations, fire extinguishers, emergency generators and other building systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- A minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training.
- Experience with chillers AND cooling towers OR VFDs access control systems, and energy management systems is necessary.
- Possess and maintain a current valid Florida drivers license.
Certificates and/or Licenses
- Certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair.

Salary: $27.00 per hour
