Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Superior Dairy is currently seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor. In this role you will be overseeing all maintenance and repair activities, ensuring safety and high equipment uptime. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians, providing guidance and troubleshooting expertise for plant equipment and machines, which may include PLCs, VFDs, Servos, and HMIs. This hands-on position requires direct involvement in repairs and installations, as well as effective coordination with the maintenance workforce.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct maintenance workforce on a day-to-day basis
- Maintenance Supervisor provides direction, oversees all assignments allocated to the maintenance technicians
- Review planning and scheduling with the maintenance manager
- Audits and ensures the quality of work performed by the maintenance technicians
- Effectively conveys and schedules maintenance activities with operations
- Able to evaluate the qualifications of the maintenance technicians and recommend training/development as needed
- Replace and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies
- Diligent in identifying corrective actions for technicians
- Maintenance Supervisor manages technicians schedules and timecards
- Supervise the preventative maintenance program on various pieces of manufacturing equipment
- Minimize equipment downtime through corrective and preventative maintenance
- Capability to lead and assist with capital improvement projects throughout the facility
- Oversee installation and electrical set-up of new or moved machinery
- Supervise and/or assist with mechanical repairs throughout the facility and on machines.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Analysis of equipment problems, identify root causes of equipment problems, project management skills, technical reading, supervision skills
- Have the ability to lead and direct continuous improvement concepts
- Clear written and verbal communications,
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, charts)
- Knowledge/Experience with of PLCs, digital and analog sensors
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills and can work as a collaborator
- Experience with servo motors, encoders, pumps, gearboxes, steam, and ammonia
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Blow molding experience is also a plus
- Ammonia and boiler systems experience is a plus
- Union experience is a plus
- Food facility experience is a plus
