Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience routine building and grounds maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, motor and bearing lubrication, mechanical maintenance, painting, general construction, & drywall maintenance or repairs.
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Familiar with industrial air compressors systems and compressed air distribution, process water chillers and cooling towers, fire suppression and alarm systems, HVAC systems, pumps, valves, motors, & fans.
  • Perform daily visual and physical inspections of the facility and its supporting equipment and contents.
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
  • The ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, & electric hand truck is a plus. The ability to diagnose and perform routine maintenance for electric hand trucks is a plus.
  • Oversee the work from outside contractors and other service providers like plumbers & electricians.
  • Assist in facility projects with EH&S & other departments as requested.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Adaptability, positive attitude, and sense of urgency to complete tasks in a professional manner.
  • Able to respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols like lock-out, tag-out (LOTO).
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of tools. The ability to operate machine shop equipment like band saws, drill presses, wire feed welders, belt sanders, & end mills is a plus.
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures and regulations.
  • Occasionally work different or overtime hours if needed to complete a repair or project.

KEY REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to communicate in English fluently.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communications skills.
  • Project planning and management of schedule and cost.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PLACE OF JOB IN THE ORGANISATION STRUCTURE: Reporting to Sr. Facilities Team Lead.
