FCAW Welder (Class 1)

VR Group are looking to recruit 15x FCAW Welders, based in Plymouth.



This is a 3 year contract.

Job description



We are working with a well respected marine engineering contractor on an exciting refit project that has a 3 yr timescale.



We are looking to grow the team throughout 2025 to a total of 15 welders.



Our successful applicants will be required to complete the following tests before proceeding onto the projects. This involves a fully paid week in the test bay.



* 12mm Multi-pass Fillet Vertical Up position tests (BS-EN ISO 9606-1)



* 12mm Butt Vertical Up position tests (BS-EN ISO 9606-1)



Qualifications Required



NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship qualified and experience of FCAW welding. Any marine/ship repair experience would be highly advantageous.



Security Clearances requires



Full SC Clearence



Advanced DBS



Key Responsibilities:



* Ensure all welding work meets strict safety and quality standards



* Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient workflow



* Adhere to detailed project timelines and tasks



* Understanding of marine welding standards and procedures



* Excellent attention to detail



* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team



Rates/Shifts: Umbrella rates (PAYE also available):



* Day Shift - £34.50/h



* Back Shift - £42/h



* Sunday and Weekday Night Shift - £49/h



* Sunday Back/Night Shift - £46/h



* Hours - 50 per week (More hours available)



* Contract length - 2-3 years



Job Types: Full-time, Temporary



Pay: £34.00-£49.00 per hour
