Job description\n\nJob Title: Multi-Skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer\n\nCompany: Facilities Maintenance - Social Housing\n\nLocation: Exeter, Devon & Mid Cornwall\n\nEmployment Type: Full-Time\n\nSalary: £26k to £28k dependant on experience\n\nJob Summary\n\nOur client is seeking a dedicated and versatile Multi-Skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team working within the social housing sector and looking to diversify and grow their business. The ideal candidate will possess a strong eye for detail, an inquisitive mindset, a can-do attitude, and the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure our clients' properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained.\n\nYou will work across various sites, handling everything from minor fabric repairs to basic plumbing maintenance. You will be a proactive problem solver with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.\n\nThis role is fast paced and varied, and you need to enjoy working in this environment.

You will bring good all-round skills, have a flexible approach whilst taking responsibility for your work. Our clients' customers require you to fix their property maintenance issues quickly and first time, you will work to this requirement and follow the clients Values.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nYou will \n\nAct as a representative our client for Facilities Maintenance, always providing a professional and courteous service. Our client provides exceptional maintenance services to our high-profile clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.\nUse your own initiative to solve, sometimes complicated, technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.\nCarry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.

Provide write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date and so that we can accurately bill our clients.\nLiaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.\nObserve the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.\nDeal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and\nProvide a call out response where required. \n\nFabric Maintenance:\n\nConduct minor repairs to walls, ceilings, floors, and other internal and external structures.\nPerform basic carpentry tasks such as door and lock adjustments, patching walls, and furniture repairs.

\n\nGeneral Maintenance:\n\nConduct routine survey inspections to identify maintenance needs and proactively address potential issues.\nAdjustments to hinges and door closiers.\nPainting and decoration, patching and some basic wallpapering. \n\nPlumbing, Heating & Electrical:\n\nAddress basic plumbing issues, including repairing leaks to wastes, unblocking drains, and maintaining fixtures.\nCarry out basic electrical checks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, inspecting sockets) in compliance with safety standards. \n\nGrounds Maintenance:\n\nCarry out basic ground's maintenance including grass cutting, strimming, pressure washing and removal of litter.\nMaintain and clean any exterior items including table, chairs and parasols.

\n\nKey Skills and Attributes\n\nA keen eye for detail and a strong sense of accountability.\nAn inquisitive mind with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.\nGreat time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships. \n\nQualifications and Experience\n\nPrevious experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role is desirable but not essential, we will happily provide training for the right candidate.\nA full UK driving license is required for site visits.\nCapable of completing essential paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. \n\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\nOpportunities for professional development and training.\nA supportive and dynamic working environment.
