Your JobThe Automotive High-Speed Connector/Cable Assembly Field Application Engineer is a specialist who combines technical expertise in high-speed data transmission hardware with an understanding of automotive industryr equirements. The FAE plays a crucial role in interfacing between the company and automotive customers to provide engineering support, design-in assistance, and problem-solving capabilities related to high-speed connectors and cable assemblies used in vehicles.The Automotive High-Speed Connector/Cable Assembly FAE will work in various settings, including offices, laboratories, production facilities, and customer sites. The role requires frequent domestic and international travel to meet with customers, attend industry conferences, and participate in technical committees.What You Will Do1. Collaborate with automotive customers to determine their high-speed connectivity needs and requirements, especially as they relate to invehicle networks, infotainment systems, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and autonomous driving technologies.2. Advise on the selection and application of high-speed connectors and cable assemblies that meet automotive industry standards for performance, quality, and reliability.3. Work closely with customers' engineering teams to integrate the company's products into their designs, providing technical expertise and support through all stages of product development and launch.4. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and issue resolution for customers, ensuring that any technical challenges are addressed promptly and effectively.5. Develop and conduct technical training sessions for customers, sales teams, and distributors to enhance their understanding of the company's high speed connectivity solutions.6. Create and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, such as application notes, datasheets, and installation guidelines, tailored to the automotive market.7. Stay informed about emerging automotive technologies, industry standards (such as Automotive Ethernet, Automotive SerDes Alliance (ASA), FPDLINK, GMSL), and competitive product offerings.8. Relay customer feedback and field experiences to internal R&D, product management, and quality assurance teams to drive continuous product improvement and innovation.9. Regularly travel to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and industry events to provide on-site support and to maintain strong customer relationships.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)<Qualifications>• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics,Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a specialization inautomotive engineering being advantageous.• Solid understanding of the design principles and challenges associatedwith high-speed digital communication in the automotive environment.• Competency with automotive communication protocols and networkarchitectures.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interacteffectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.• A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to work in adynamic, fast-paced environment.• Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes on short notice.<Experience>? 5+ years of experience in an FAE role or a similar technical positionwithin the automotive industry, specifically dealing with high-speedconnectors, cable assemblies, or related components.? Proven experience in managing customer relationships and providingtechnical support in an automotive engineering context.What Will Put You Ahead? Familiarity with automotive industry standards and certifications, such as ISO 26262 (functional safety), AEC-Q100/200, and others relevant to connectors and cabling.? Knowledge of high-speed protocols e.g. Single Pair Ethernet, FPDLINK, GMSL, GVIF, etc.? Knowledge of system level physical layer design (e.g. Connectors, coax and differential cables, PCB structures, etc.)? Knowledge of signal integrity analysis and simulations to validate the performance of connectors and cable assemblies in the automotive environment, accounting for factors such as vibration, temperature extremes, and electromagnetic interference (EMI).?
