The Field Applications Scientist will provide technical pre- and post-sales support for all microscopy products. Support will be provided to customers and Account Managers in all facets of their selling activities.
The Field Applications Scientist will perform product demonstrations, troubleshooting, and training sessions with end customers and sales reps. The will handle demonstration system logistics and confirm accurate system functionality. They will perform successful product demonstrations to drive sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide expert product, application, and software support to customers and sales
- Perform product demonstrations to drive sales results
- Test and confirm demo system functionality
- Conduct training for customers and employees
- Provide technical troubleshooting for existing customers
- Develop protocols to image customer samples
- Participate in and lead customer workshops
- Schedule and run product seminars
- Work with customers or other experts to generate field data and application notes, which highlight product benefits and help differentiate company products
- Assist in meeting sales goals for each of the sales reps in his/her assigned territory and provide positive motivation and support to help sales reps meet their goals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Professional Experience
- Minimum 2 years in a research, quality-control or production environment, applying microscopy and digital imaging techniques to drive results
- High level of computer proficiency with troubleshooting knowledge
- Experience in a customer-facing support role
- Maintain and troubleshoot advanced imaging equipment, hardware and software
- Teaching or training experience, provide training to others on how to apply imaging equipment and techniques to solve scientific questions
Education
- BA/BS in the life sciences or optics field
- Masters or PhD degree
- Familiarity with biological imaging applications needed; fluorescence, confocal microscopy and optics experience is highly valued
- English
Anticipated Travel Requirements
- 75% in Southern California
- 25% overnight travel – Western US
