Job Overview:
We are seeking a Wireless Construction Manager to oversee the deployment and construction of wireless cell sites in collaboration with OEM partners. This role involves managing all aspects of site construction, commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality implementation of 4G and 5G networks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in site buildout, radio and antenna installation, power systems, and telecommunication equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the installation of 4G/5G antennas, radio components, RF cabling, fiber optics, and AC/DC power systems.
- Oversee the installation of radio cabinets, DC power systems, and telecommunication equipment.
- Conduct site walks, manage construction activities, and validate site readiness for commissioning and integration.
- Troubleshoot RF, fiber optic systems, and hardware/software issues as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local build standards, regulations, and safety guidelines (e.g., OSHA).
- Manage supplier performance, including rollout schedules, skill verification, and quality control.
- Validate technical site surveys, scoping packages, and Bill of Materials.
- Conduct quality inspections and validate site acceptance documentation.
- Coordinate equipment repairs, returns, and inventory management.
- Provide detailed project activity reports and ensure timely submission of closeout data.
- Perform microwave installation, commissioning, and alignment as required.
- Supervise and ensure safe operation of aerial lifts and telecommunication equipment.
- Interpret technical documents (e.g., blueprints, engineering plans) to guide proper installation.
Requirements:
- Candidates must not currently be employed or contracted with Nokia, T-Mobile, AT&T, or Verizon in any capacity. Candidates must have a completed end date for any prior employment or contracts with these companies.
- Located in the designated market and open to 80% travel.
- Strong knowledge of Nokia equipment and installation.
- Proven experience in site construction (site walks, installation, and acceptance) for wireless sites.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Current certifications (or willingness to obtain before starting):
- CPR
- Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP)
- RF Awareness
- OSHA 10/30
- Fall Protection
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Skills:
- Hands-on experience with commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting of wireless network equipment.
- Familiarity with RF and fiber optic systems, including transmission concepts.
- Electrical training or certifications related to telecommunications systems.
- Knowledge of Nokia-specific tools and systems such as NDPd, NDPc, and RVS.
- Familiarity with grounding techniques, fiber tags, and other telecom installation practices.
