Synergis’ client, a global leader delivering streamlined global support solutions on behalf of technical product manufacturers, has engaged us in a search to build a support team of field engineers to perform service and support on premier CNC equipment. The selected team members will provide field support, repair and upgrades on CNC equipment related to electronics & digital circuitry, hydraulics components and more. The field engineer(s) will have a baseline understanding of circuitry, power, and other mechanical systems to make the most of the 6-week training they’ll receive onsite at the manufacture’s facilities.
Field Engineer – CNC / Laser | Background and Scope
- Installation, services, troubleshoot and repair CNC fabricating machine tools on location at customer sites within the mid-west region
- Provide technical service and support to customers to ensure optimal sheet metal machine operational efficiencies.
- Some construction related responsibilities for installation of CNC fabrication tooling equipment
- Document customer machine information and technical conditions and make improvement suggestions
- Train customers to operate and/or service machines to ensure maximum productivity.
- Work directly with customers during installations and repairs and be an ambassador / liaison to the other support divisions within the manufacturing organization
Field Engineer – CNC / Laser | Requirements
- Associates Degree or combination of education and experience, or tradeoff between all of them.
- 2 to 3+ years of related technical experience
- Recent experience providing technical field support services (client facing)
- Ability to follow detailed technical instruction sets.
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor with tight deadlines.
- Ability to read diagrams & blueprints
- Exemplary technical and process troubleshooting skills.
- Log gathering experience.
- Understanding of remote troubleshooting techniques and tools
- Case management experience
- Support would include (but not limited to):
- Installing and troubleshooting both hardware and software.
- Troubleshooting & administration experience with Windows operating systems.
- Technical aptitude paired with ability & desire to quickly learn new technologies.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose problems and work independently to solve them.
- Solid Level II technical & process troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of office automation products, Office 365 (Outlook & Excel, in particular).
- Dedication and focus on customer satisfaction and follow-through.
- Experience, judgment, and drive to plan, make decisions and accomplish goals.
- Organized with demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems.
- Manage all internal & external interactions in a professional and courteous manner.
Field Technician – CNC / Laser | Other:- Comprehensive Training provided by manufacturer onsite in Connecticut
- Demonstrate a legal ability to work within the United States via I9 verification.
- Ability to work for any US based company without sponsorship, now or anytime in the future.
- 100% Travel
- Ability to lift to 50lbs.
- May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.

The compensation for this position is $28/hr. (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, , life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
