Field Support Technician


Location: Takoma, WA

A successful Field Service Technician candidate can adapt to a variety of work environments and quickly solve problems. Their main responsibility is to provide excellent customer service while maintaining equipment, with specific Field Service Technician job duties including:
Responsibilities:

  • Become knowledgeable in Passport services and products
  • Install/Upgrade equipment maintained by the company in various locations
  • Configure hardware and software components after installation
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment
  • Test equipment to troubleshoot issues
  • Document installation and repairs
  • Maintain all tools and equipment during service calls
  • Teach clients how to use equipment properly

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Written and verbal communications skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in a clear and concise manner
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems
  • Time management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule
  • Attention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports relating to repairs
  • Networking and PC skills
  • Proven leadership, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skill
  • Organizational skills to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the field
  • Computer and technical skills to understand the equipment fully
  • Handy with tools
