JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Link-Belt Field Service Dispatcher

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

Department: Service 

Reports To: Link-Belt Service Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: Dispatches Field Service Technicians to service and repair heavy equipment and manages the field service areas by performing the following duties. Receives, records, and distributes work orders to service crews upon customers' requests for service by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Records information such as name, address, article to be repaired, or service to be rendered.

• Prepare quotations when necessary.

• Assist technicians when ordering parts.

• Follows up with customers during and after repairs.

• Enters and approves technician's labor.

• Prepares work order and distributes to service crew.

• Schedules for the service call and dispatches service crew.

• Calls or writes to customers to ensure satisfactory performance of service.

• Keeps record of service calls and work orders.

• Dispatches orders and relays messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other

      departments.

• Communicate with customers to determine repair needs. 

• Opens work orders using specific coding and based on customer needs.

• Schedules all work and prioritizes accordingly. 

• Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to invoicing. 

• Manages truck fleet.

Supervisory Responsibilities:                   

Directly supervises all service employees in the Field. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:                   

The ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Skills:                   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:                   

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:                   

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:                   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Valid Florida Driver’s License
