Job Overview: We are currently recruiting an experienced Field Service Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading injection moulding machine manufacturer to join their established team.\n\nBenefits:\n\n* Company vehicle & tools\n\n* Profit related bonus scheme\n\n* Generous overtime rates\n\n* Private healthcare plan\n\n* Flu vaccination\n\n* Holiday buy back scheme\n\n* Death in service benefit\n\nRemit:\n\n * As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for installing new injection moulding machines to customer premises and carry out routine servicing and repairs to ensure customer satisfaction.\n\n * This role will suit either current or previous experienced Service Engineers or Maintenance Engineers looking to move into a Service Engineer role, this role is home based with candidates preferably located in the Midlands or South/M4 Corridor.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Install new injection moulding equipment at clients sites, ensuring proper setup and configuration according to manufacturer’s guidelines.\n\n * Provide remote and on-site technical support to clients, troubleshooting issues with injection moulding machines, auxiliary equipment, and control systems.\n\n * Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, cleaning, and parts replacement, to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.\n\n * Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on injection moulding machinery, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers for replacement parts and upgrades.\n\n * Conduct training sessions for client personnel on the operation, maintenance, and safety procedures related to injection moulding equipment.\n\n * Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, parts inventory, and equipment history, using our internal systems.\n\n * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of technical issues to maximize customer satisfaction.\n\n * Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains in injection moulding operations, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.\n\n * Maintaining and recording stock levels of spares as required\n\n * Reporting used stock to the Sales Administrator to ensure accurate invoicing of the customer\n\nEssential Requirements:\n\n * Have previous working knowledge of injection molding machines or plastic processing equipment.\n\n * Experience of working with pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems\n\n * Have a good awareness and understanding of the importance of health and safety in the workplace\n\nDesirable Requirements:\n\n * Have ONC (or equivalent) in engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial electrics, maintenance engineering or related discipline\n\n * Experience of working with PLC controlled machinery\n\n * Counter balance, Overhead Crane certificates\n\n * Previous customer service experience\n\n * Experience of working in a similar maintenance role\n\n * Autonomy and self disciplined in managing own project to completion within timeframe\n\nCore Competencies:\n\n * Excellent customer care skills\n\n * Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively\n\n * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal\n\n * Have excellent attention to detail\n\n * Ability to build effective team relationships\n\n * Be able to make decisions under pressure\n\n * Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team\n\n * Excellent problem-solving skills\n\n * Ability to work safely\n\nKey Words: “Service Engineer”, “Field Service Engineer”, “Commissioning Engineer”, “Installation Engineer”, “Maintenance Engineer”, “Electrical Engineer”, “Mechanical Engineer” “Multi-Skilled Maintenance”, “Injection Moulding” “Plastics”\n\nFOOTER\n\nDue to the sheer volume of applications we receive we will only contact successful applications that meet the requirements of our client job brief.
