Your Role:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
- Provide exceptional service to our clients, focusing on the installation and maintenance of biosafety airflow cabinets, reverse-osmosis water systems and other laboratory equipment.
- Conduct on-site preventive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and emergency response visits.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate effectively with our Service Office team.
- Manage car stock inventory of spare parts and follow Health and Safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or proven experience.
- Experience: Previous experience in a field-based technical support role as a Service Engineer, Test Engineer, or other field-based support. Previous Clean-air or biosafety cabinet experience will be a distinct advantage.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical equipment, excellent organizational skills, and a professional approach to work.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and public holidays, and provide out-of-hours cover on a rota basis.
- Travel: This field-based role covers the South East and Cambridgeshire. You’ll need to be located under 80 minutes' drive from Cambridge (ideally you'll be based in the Herts, Bucks, Beds area), with regular travel expected to London, Cambridge, Oxford, and beyond.
